Guztiok badakigu zer gertatzen den elurte baten ondoren egun libre batzuk dituzunean. Arazoa da, elurtearen ondoren elurraren etsairik handiena den euria etorri zela... Emaitza, elur buztia eta urtze lurten arrisku handia.

Todo el mundo sabe lo que pasa cuando tienes unos días libres después de una nevada. El problema es que inmediatamente después vino la lluvia, el mayor enemigo de la nieve... Resultado, nieve húmeda y riesgo alto de avalanchas por fusión.

Everybody knows what happens when you have some free days just after a snowfall. The problem is that afterwards arrived the rain, the greatest enemy of snow, and as a result there is wet snow and avalanche risk by meltdown.

Baldintza hauetan, Ion ta biok, Astunera goaz, bertan segurtasun txiki bat bermatzen duten 2300m baino gutxiagoko mendi ez oso aldapatsuak topatu ditzazkegulako.

En estas condiciones, Ion y yo, nos dirigimos a Astun, donde montes de no más de 2300m, con laderas no muy pronunciadas, nos garantizan cierta seguridad.

In this conditions, Ion and me go to Astun, where mountains are lower than 2300m height, with not too steep slopes that guarantees us some security.

Astunetik, 1700m, TRuchas lakura igotzen dugu ta gero Astungo lepora.

 Desde Astún, 1700m, ascendemos hacía el ibon de las Truchas y luego al collado de Astún.

From Astun, 1700m, we ascend to the lake of Truchas and then we go to the pass of Astun.

En la cresta debemos tener atención con las cornisas que faltan por caer.

Lepoko jeitsiera harrizko elurrean egiten dugu.

La bajada del collado la realizamos sobre hormigón armado.

We make the descent from the pass over reinforced concrete.

Behin pistetan, kanioiko elurrak baldintza hobeak dakarzkigu, igoera pare bat gehio egitera gu behartuz. Bata Canal Royako leporaino ta bestea Truchaseko ahulki mekanikoraino. Guztira, berotzeko 1200mko desnibel metatua.

Ya en las pistas la nieve de cañon mejora las condiciones, obligándonos a realizar un par subidas nuevas hasta el collado de canal roya y otra hasta la telesilla de Truchas. En total 1200m de desnivel acumulado para ir entrando en calor.

Once in the snow tracks, the cannons improve the conditions, forcing us to do new ascends twice. To the pass of Canal Roya and to the chair lift of Truchas.

Neguko solstizioak aldaketa da. Berpiztearen aldaketa. Hemendik aurrera argiak bere indarra berrezkuratzen hasten da.

El solsticio de invierno es cambio. El cambio del renacer. La luz se vuelve a abrir camino a partir de ahora.

Winter solstice means change. The change of being reborn. From now on, light starts to make way again.

Indar gehiagorekin suspertzen gara, salto alai bat eginez garai berri honi ekiteko.

Nos despertamos con más energía, dando un salto de alegría para afrontar esta nueva época.

We rise stronger, jumping for joy to face this new time.

 

Ez duguna nahi dugula esan ohi da, baina egia esanda, aldaketarengatik sortutako poztasunak errepikapenarenganako ezatxekimenduaren adierazpena esan nahi du ere. Horrek bizirik mantentzen gaitu.

Se dice que siempre queremos lo que no tenemos, pero en realidad la alegría por el cambio significa también la manifestación del desapego a lo repetitivo. Eso nos mantiene frescos.

It's said, we always want what we have not, but actually the happyness of change means lack of affection to the repetitive. This keeps us fresh.

Candanchu

Eskiatzeko gogoak, maila jasanezin batera eraman gaitu azkenik, non gure nahia geldiezina da.

Habíamos llegado a un punto límite, en el cuál el deseo por esquiar se había convertido en algo irrefrenable. 

We had reach an extreme situation where desire for skiing had become irrepressible.

Hasiera batean gure helburua Astun zen, baina bertako baldintzak apokaliptikoak ziren. Orduan, pinuen arteko jeitsiera bat atsegina zitzaigula oso, baino Tobazoko isurialdean haizeak bereak egina zituela, Pista Grandera abiatzen gara Candanchu mendian jolasteko.

En principio el objetivo era Astún, pero las condiciones allí eran apocalípticas. Me apetecía descenso por pinos, pero la vertiente de Tobazo estaba muy venteada y tratándose de una primera toma de contacto, nos vamos a pista grande a trastear por el monte Candanchu.

At first, the aim was Astun, but the weather conditions over there were apocalyptic. So I was wondering a descent among pines, but the Tobazo side was wasted enough by the wind that we decided to rifle trough Candanchu hill.

Nahiz ta sareko metereologo ofizialak, aurreikusten zuen elurte orokorrak atsaldeko argilunekin, guk "argiluneak" soilik ulertu genituen. Gure gainean izango zirelakoaren ideia proiektatuz. Jaingoikoak bestalde beste plana zeukaten.


Apesar de que el meteorólogo oficial de la red daba una previsión de nevadas con apertura de claros a la tarde, nosotros nos quedamos con "apertura de claros a la tarde", proyectando la idea de que serían sobre nuestras cabezas, obviamente los dioses tenían otros planes.

Despite the fact that the official metereologist of the net was giving a snow forecast with sunny spells in the afternoon, we only got the idea of the "afternoon sunny spells", projecting the idea that the sunny spells would be above us, but Gods had other plans.

Candanchu mendia, Somport mendatea ta Candanchuren arteko mendiska txikia da. Bertan, belaunarainoko elurtean eskiatzeko nahikaria izan dugu.

El monte Candanchu es la pequeña colina que hay entre el puerto de Somport y Candanchu, donde hemos tenido el placer de esquiar con nieve por la rodilla.

Candanchu mountain is the little hill between the pass of Somport and Candanchu, where we have had the pleasure of skiing with snow 'til the knee.

 Orain, eskia burutik kendu ezinaz aparte, eskiatu dugu.

Ahora, además de no quitarnos el esquí de la cabeza, hemos esquiado.

Txurregi-Beriain

Badaramatzagu egun asko goiz-lainopean harrapatutak, Iruñerri inguruneko gailur ospetsuenak zapaltzeko aproposa dena. Ortziruntz zuzen doan izpi baten antzeko bidaian, geure burua sartuz.

Llevamos varios dias atrapados en la densa niebla matinal, muy apropiada para visitar cumbres cercanas a la comarca que sirvan como proyecciones hacia el cielo.

After so many days trapped under a dense morning fog, it's suitable visiting nearby summits around the city, useful as a throwing trip to heaven.

Aspaldidanik Txurregi ta Beriain bitarteko ertza oinez egiteko gogoa nuen. Horretarako, kexarik gabe eta erritmo bizkorrez ibilbide luzeak jasateko beti prest dauden Räi ta Khamûl baino, ez dago ezer hobe.


Hacía tiempo que tenía ganas de completar la cresta entre Txurregi y Beriain, para lo cuál meto en la camioneta a Räi y Khamûl, que nunca tienen reparos en soportar largas caminatas a buen ritmo sin protestar.

For so long I was wishing to complete the whole crest between Txurregi and Beriain. So I take Räi and Khamûl, those who never find any faults in supporting long tracks, walking fast, without any complaint.

Ollaranetik, Txurregi igotzen dugu, 1125m. Iruinerriko babezlea.

Txurregitik, Beriain mendiko San Donato ermitaraino eramango gaituen Satrustegiko ertza behatzen dugu.

Desde el Txurregi, contemplamos la cresta de Satrustegi, que debemos completar para llegar hasta la ermita de San Donato en el monte Beriain.

From Txurregi we see the whole crest of Satrustegi that we must complete to achieve the chapel of San Donato, in Beriain peak.

The vertical walls of Satrustegi peak, 1139m, in the middle of the crest, allows you to get faster to Sakana, but not in one piece...

Ibilbide osoa, ertzatik doan bidexka batetik eiten da.

Ingurunean zaldiak aske ikustea arrunta da, kontutan hartzekoa lasterketa eroak maite dituzten zakurrekin bazatoz.
